Keep dark colors saturated

Each time you wash dark clothing, some black dye is lost and the fabric surface becomes more worn, leading to a faded, fuzzy appearance. When washing is unavoidable, you should turn dark garments inside out to protect the outer surface, sort laundry by color and fabric weight, and use cold water on the shortest cycle. Use the correct amount of detergent to prevent residue, and steer clear of bleach. Dry clothes indoors—lay sweaters flat on a lint-free towel. For items in rich tones like ebony or charcoal, dry cleaning helps maintain that just-bought appearance far longer than machine washing.
